About SVG Optimization

Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) files generated by design tools like Adobe Illustrator, Figma, or Sketch often contain redundant information, editor metadata, hidden elements, and unnecessary whitespace. Our SVG Optimizer strips out this bloat to drastically reduce the file size without affecting how the image looks.

How to Use

  1. Paste Code: Open your `.svg` file in a text editor, copy the contents, and paste it into the "Original SVG Code" box.
  2. Toggle Settings: Select what you want to remove. By default, it safely removes comments, XML declarations, metadata, and minifies spaces.
  3. Optimize: Click "Optimize SVG" to process the code.
  4. Export: Copy the output code directly, or click "Download .svg" to save it as a file.

Why Optimize SVGs?

  • Faster Load Times: Smaller file sizes mean your website loads faster, which is crucial for mobile users.
  • Better SEO: Search engines like Google favor fast-loading websites, and optimized assets contribute heavily to this.
  • Cleaner Code: Removing editor metadata makes your repository cleaner and prevents exposing internal design layer names or paths.

FAQ

Will this affect image quality?

No. Since SVGs are vector math, removing comments, metadata, and whitespace has absolutely zero impact on the visual quality or rendering of the image.

Is my SVG uploaded anywhere?

No, all processing is done locally within your browser using JavaScript. We do not store or transmit your images.
